Last week I did an install of 64-bit Vista Business. After all updates I still get a message that Intel Chipset Support 6 for Windows 2000/XP/Vista is a needed Critical Update! I download, however, it doesn't appear to install. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I also have checked the Driver Matrix links and I can't find the Fingerprint Reader drivers for 64-bit Vista.

This site has been a great help in getting a really nice business laptop to perform up to my expectations. Only a few more steps to put it over the top!

    Thanks again for everyone's help.

i had that same problem and posted a similar question.

I believe the chipset version you have now is more current than the one through the Thinkvantage System Update so that's why it shows it but doesn't install.
At least that's what it was for me.

Thanks. I remember seeing a caution from Intel regarding installing from the manufacturers' site as preferrable. I went ahead and installed the one from Intel. So far no problems.

same problem here installing the intel one, I expect it will resolve in due course.

for the fingerprint software try searching for "fingerprint 5.6" on the lenovo site, I think that's how I found it.

Got it! Now all devices are functioning. Processes are now up to 75, but still better than 92. I just finished 3 hours of BF2 and the system is working great!
