My lbm t61p has intel centrino vpro 2.4 t7700 chip. what is the intel centrnio vpro differences between the core 2 duo? my has the sticker of the vpro and my old t61 had the core 2 duo sticker. whats the difference?
-
marketing. thats it. same technology. you definitely have a core 2 duo.
-
Um, I could be wrong but the Centrino has the Core 2 Duo chip but it also has the Intel wireless card which makes it "Centrino" right?
So, Intel wireless card + Intel Core 2 Duo = Intel Centrino ? -
Old Intel wireless + Old Intel C2D + Old Intel Chipset = Centrino
New Intel wireless + New Intel C2D + New Intel Chipset = Centrino 2
And I believe Centrino + AMT (Active Management Tech) = vPro which is a way for your IT staff to manage your laptop without it having to be powered on. -
the Vpro is a special instruction set that allows for a certain level of security to be built in. i assume it allows certain developers to write code for hardware enabled security thats more addressed to business class machines.
-
Looks like it also works in conjunction with AV software to allow inspection into virtual machines.
Intel Centrino vPro VS. Intel Core 2 Duo???
