If I recall you don't need to install the app, you can just install the drivers. I did this to my Uncle's X201 Tablet previously though it was a while back. I think what you need to do is download the Intel AMT 6.0 - Management Engine Interface and Serial Over LAN driver (SOL) Driver, extract it to the hard drive, then go to the Device Manager. Right click on the two missing drivers and then choose Update Drivers. Manually point to the Intel AMT directory and it should be able to install it for you without the need of software.

Best thing is to turn it off in the BIOS.

Saves loading drivers that are unnecessary.

Also better for security. Remember that AMT is essentially a back-door into your laptop (allowing remote administration - but also spying, BIOS flash, etc). Its original purpose for corporate laptop, to give corporation's IT "out of band" access to your laptop for administration/security/audit.
If you use it only for personal use, better switch AMT off, otherwise unsecure/default passwords/certs could compromise your laptop bigtime without you even suspecting intrusion, or allowing malicious person to render laptop unusable. For same reason after switching it off, protect BIOS with password.
