    Intel 6300 in Thinkpad W530 slow to connect

    The Intel 6300 wireless card in my Thinkpad W530 typically takes up to 2 minutes to connect to a network when I turn on the computer or wake it from standby. Once the connection is established, speeds are normal and everything works as expected. This occurs with both saved and new networks. Networks are detected (labeled) instantly, but it invariably takes 2 minutes to connect to one.

    So far, I've tried
    1. Adjusting the properties of the wireless card to decrease network roaming and increase signal level
    2. Setting my home network to the Preferred WLAN Profile when the system wakes from standby in Access Connections
    3. Uninstalling Access Connections and using the default Windows software to connect to networks
    Anyone have other ideas or suggestions that might get the wireless card to connect faster?

    Try updating to the latest drivers from Intel. I’ve had issues with this WNIC as well in the past and had to try different driver versions before I found 15.18.0.1 to be the most stable for me.

    I'm using 15.17.0.1, which is the latest I can get for Windows 7

    Maybe one of the 3 antennas are not connected properly, try to benchmark, just do file copying with a wireless router that is capable of 450 mbps over wireless-n.

    The other end of the transfer needs to be a computer connected via 1 gbit ethernet.
