Just about to pull the trigger on a new T400. Last piece of hardware is the wireless. I have a Dlink 4500 N router. What adapter would be better for range and reliability, the 5100 or the 5300? The difference in price is about $20.

    Thanks

The 5300 is definately worth the $20. It has great range in my X200 as it comes with 3 antenna instead of 2 on the 5100. Go for it!

You really wont notice any difference between them. They both are capable of speeds in excess of 100Mbps. Unless you have really fast drives and a gigabit LAN and several network hungry applications running concurrently, the 5300 wont make any difference.

I went with the 5300. It was only $20 more.

Read the 802.11N Performance link in my sig. The 5300 is better, but the difference isn't that large for most normal situations.
