Hi, I suppose that this is a microphone, but can you confirm that?? And another question... when I run my computer without the ac adaptor, the power manager jumps from 12% to 5% and hiberns itself. I configure power manager to advise me at 10% and hibernate at 5%. How I can solve this? Thanks so much.

Yes, that's the location of the integrated microphone.

I don't understand your question about the power manager utility.

Usually if a battery jumps down several percentage points it is a sign of some bad cells. I had a bad battery (one of 3) for my T40 and it would drop from 50% right down to 5%.

Does this problem only occur when you are using the microphone? Or does it happen all the time?

If it happens all the time, I would suggest you TURN OFF ALL SHUTOFF TIMERS and drain your battery ALL THE WAY TO 0% (the computer will just die). Wait a few minutes, then plug the battery in and charge it all the way to 100% with the computer off. This can help recalibrate the battery if the gauge is faulty. If you still have the same problem, your battery may be faulty and you should call Lenovo for advice and/or a replacement battery (the computer itself should be fine).

So, if the microphone it's integrated, why I can't hear my voice, making a test with sound recorder of windows vista, or talking with someone in skype?
