    Is it possible to get the palm rest with the fingerprint reader built in and install it on a T61 that did not come with the fingerprint reader? From what I've seen the fingerprint reader is just another component built into the palm rest and connects via the same connector used for the touchpad.

    exactly. just make sure you install the right drivers too. everything else is the same.

    Any suggestions on finding the correct part number for a t61 15.4"? Anyone know how much this part will cost?
