    Hello --

    I ordered a T61 with Vista Business.

I want to install XP on separate partition.

Does it come with Vista discs to do a fresh install later, or is it just on a hard drive partition.

Can I format the main part of the hard drive, and reinstall Vista off partition, just like if I had the discs?

    Confused,
    Smirch

    I would do the following:
    1. burn recovery media
    2. partition and format for 2 os's
    3. install xp on one with retail version.
    4. use anytime upgrade cd to clean install vista on 2nd using these methods:

you can get the anytime upgrade cd here:

    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/pro...nse/howto.mspx

look for this section.... under "what you need to know"

If you need a Windows Vista disc

Additional license orders do not necessarily include a disc. If you lost your original disc or your product came preinstalled on your computer without a Windows Vista disc, you may order a replacement or backup disc online.

The word "online" is a link. disk is free, shipping is $7.00
