Just got a new Y510P, I've been enjoying it quite a bit

    - however as i suspected, the majority of my games aren't running on it- so I'm going to install Windows 7 on this

I was curious what the full steps were to do this, and if what i've already gathered is really all i need to do- I also would like to ask what steps i can do to preserve Windows 8 so that if things go awry somehow, i dont perma-brick my new laptop
I was considering dual booting , but i suspect that might be too much work.....

Any advice from those who've done this before regarding installing Win 7?

When i did some searching I found this

Is this really all the stuff i'd need to take care of ? (i already have a spare copy of WIn 7) I know that there's win 7 drivers on this page
Drivers and software - IdeaPad Y510p Notebook
    - haven't quite found the specific nvidia and intel sites for the I7 and Nvidia 755.......

Regarding backing up- I am going to back up a system image to DVD's using the One Key program that came with the computer- will that be all I need to do backup wise? I haven't moved much onto this new computer, so I'm mainly concerned with not losing windows 8.
Will i need to do any other sort of backup that I'm not aware of?

If i follow the above instructions and then in the future did decide to go back to Win 8, would the 24 gb SSD be restored to it's original form?

I seem to recall seeing somewhere that the FN keys won't completely work properly under Windows 7 without a downloadable fix , anyone know where that is?
