    Hey guys,
I am going to reinstall Windows 7 onto my X220, and I made the recovery media back when I got this laptop. I am now using an SSD rather than the hard drive my laptop shipped with, is this going to cause an issue when using the recovery media or will it take into account that I'm installing windows onto an SSD rather than a regular hard drive?

Additionally, any suggestions on a program that supports Windows 8 that I can use to make an image of my current install of windows 8 as well as the GPT partitions/partitiontable?

The Recovery Media will work fine, I done it before and everything installed correctly. Even the partition alignments were all correct so you don't need to worry about it.

Acronis True Image 2013 with Plus Pack supports both Windows 8 and GPT partitions. You can use it to make a perfect clone of your current install.

Thank you Kaso, Hearst, and Flickster. I really appreciate it.

Time to see if there really is a difference in battery life on the X220 between Win 7 and Win 8, or if my battery is just getting old. (To be fair, I'm pretty sure the former will win seeing as many people say the factory install has tweaks for the best battery life compared to a clean install..)
