    Installing SSD/HD in t420s! HELP!!

    Hello, I am new to thinkpads. Just purchased and received my t420s. 2.6ghz 4g ram 128 SSD. I have another 160 intel ssd and a 500g HD. I am wanting to install and i have no idea how these machines open/work. I have alot computer knowledge just not with thinkpads. been working with macs and pcs for 10 years. so any help would be appreciated! just dont wanna hurt my new baby =D

    How do you plan to install windows on the SSD?

    Note that the internal storage bay uses 7mm thick drives so the 500GB HDD will not fit (but you can put it in the UltraBay). However, many SSDs can fit but a spacer may need to be removed. See this thread for more discussion.

    Note also that the existing HDD sits in a caddy with some rubber rails. These need to be transferred to the new drive.

    Before you do anything else make yourself a set of recovery discs.
