The T60 WS that I ordered is arriving tomorrow. I also ordered an extra gig of RAM from Lenovo. When I made the order I phoned in and I asked the guy if it is easy to install it myself, rather than pay the 50 bucks they were charging for it (I did it before for my Toshiba notebook) . He said that if I did it once, it will be a breeze, is the same as for other notebooks.

I phone in today to check on the delivery date and I ask again the question. Some other guy tells me now that the ram is to be installed someplace under the keyboard. I know from my Toshiba that to remove the keyboard takes some careful work. If you had the same problem, how hard is it? Should I take it to a pro or can I do it myself? I have some experience with taking a laptop apart; I did it several times with my Toshiba to solder that stupid DC jack over and over again. I was able to put it all together again without a glitch.

Apologies if this has been disscused before; if so could you provide the appropriate link? Thank you!

It is located under the touchpad. There are four screws to remove on the bottom, then pop of the palm test and there it is. Check out the service manual located on Lenovo's site. It will explain the procedure with pictures.

Ok, I found it. Seems easy, you don't have to remove the keyboard as I previously thought.
Thanks for the info and here's the link in case anybody else needs it.
