Hey guys, I would like to install the graphic drivers from Intel for the HD 3000 rather than using the Lenovo's manufacturer drivers but when I tried to install it, it gave me an error stating that I need to install Lenovo's instead. Is there a way for me to bypass this? I vaguely recall doing this before on my other laptop but that was dedicated GPU rather than an integrated one. The drivers are found here:

    http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Sea...+Processors+with+Intel®+HD+Graphics+3000/2000

I have an X220 i7 in case you're wondering. Thanks in advance!

Did you already try uninstalling the previous graphics drivers first?

Yup, I uninstalled the previous drivers first, restarted, then tried to installed the one from Intel and it didn't allow me.

I've ran into this before but with my X201i. If I recall correctly, you should be able to manually install the drivers through the Device Manager. I think you Update Driver Software, Browse Your Computer for driver software, and then Browse For Folder to where you downloaded the graphics drivers.

This solution came from a bit of googling, so I sort of forgot.

If you manually install the drivers it will still do it. You should check your OSD after updating though, as I've found intel drivers to break the OSD functionality.
