Hi there, this is my first post here.

I got a Lenovo Thinkpad T510 without integrated camera and would like to install one for it. I have called Lenovo Technical Support (UK), the rep, told me that I cannot do any upgrade on the machine, which make me feel disappointed.

However, I believed that there should be some methods to do it, so i googled online and found the Maintenance Manual. In the manual, it seems that I just have to ordered particular FRU and may be able to get the camera installed. So is there anyone has tried to install integrated camera on Thinkpad?

At the same time, I have found these FRUs, which I believed they should be purchased for the machine. Could you guys please remind me if there are some elements I should also purchase for this 'operation'?

    Integrated Camera
    FRU: 60Y9402

LED Cable (Not quite sure if I have to buy it)
    FRU: 45M2896

Front Bezel (Suppose to have the space for the camera, current one I am using does not have space for it)
    FRU: 60Y5482

While I don't have a T510 - I just installed one on my T520 (same situation, did not order one when I bought it online). You don't need the LED cable, but you need the other two parts (Camera + Bezel). (So hopefully this is the same for T510).

It was pretty simple to do - just be careful taking off the screw caps, don't want to scratch them.

    Good luck!
