    Hello all!

I am about to place an order for the Lenovo IdeaPad Y580 (1TB, 1080p model). I know it doesnt come with any installation discs, and I am wondering if after I pop an SSD in there I can install Windows 7 64bit using the OEM disc I have from building my desktop? Then register the installation using the authentication key from the sticker on the Lenovo? That way I dont have to make recovery discs that include all the bloatware, etc.

I would of course need the drivers saved to a thumb drive or disc.

    Thanks

Thank you! One last question. Doing this then reformatting the 1TB drive I'd lose whatever blu ray payback software is included. Would it be better to NOT reformatt the mass storage drive, or can the included programs be re-downloaded from Lenovo?

I can't quite recall but I don't think powerDVD or the burner software installers are on the drivers partition. I didn't care since I have a full powerDVD and Nero that I moved from my old laptop. You can't run them from the 2nd hdd anyway without reinstalling them though so it wouldn't matter if you wipe the drive or not.
