    Curiously, my Z60t has an LG screen and the new T60 has a Samsung, but the Samsung is considerably brighter than the LG. It helps that it's higher res too. It could very well be that the LG screen on the T60 is better, but I'm not crying about the Samsung like I thought I would.

    The fan is quieter, too.

    Congratulations! I'm glad you like the screen, though I think the LG/Samsung issue was limited to the 15.4" WSXGA+ screens. Is that second item on your spec list indicating that you have a third antennae, meaning you can get a wireless N card and have it work?

    The serial number could be misscanned and probably you received a LG screen

    Do 14" screens come from LG too? For the model I'm thinking of buying (2623KEU), Tabook gives only samsung, hydis and tmd. Or is that because there are LG screens only on newer models? And what exactly is so wrong with the samsungs?

    It IS pretty bright. So I'm doing the happy dance. I made sure to order only 1DIMM and upgraded it myself with some Kingston.

    I didn't order the WWAN card even though I have one in my Z60t (I have a Verizon Wireless account). Does the T60p have a hidden WWAN antenna or does the absence of one on the side of the screen mean I'm SOL.

    I doubt that. He can just run Everest to be sure... If it reads the number in my review under panel he has LG otherwise not.

    Samsung makes lot and lots of great LCDs, they could have sample issues, but its not like they are all terrible just cause its samsung and all good just cause they are LG. CVD isn't perfect no mater who does it. Thin films are a pain in the $#@

    I also have 42R9420. How can I confirm that my screen is indeed samsung?

    There isn't going to be anything wildly wrong with people's screens, if you like it be happy if you don't send it back, at the end of the day that is all that matters. But if you really have to know either take apart your computer or run everest or similar, it will give you the manufacturer panel part number (I posted the LG number in my review)...

    But seriously this I don't have an NMB keyboard so my machine isn't good enough kind of junk is just insane.

    I believe the 3rd antenna does indicate the inclusion of 802.11n. I just ordered my T60 widescreen (WOOHOO!), and spec'ed for the 802.11a/b/g/n card since it was the same price as with the 802.11a/b/g card. And mine lists it with the antenna:

    I do have a question though, how do I find out what screen mine is going to come with? It lists it as this:

    But the parts look-up on the lenovo site requires me to put in the full serial # of my notebook, which I don't have since it hasn't been built yet...

    Forgive me,

    How do you figure if your computer has a LG or Samsung screen?

    I am new to Thinkpads (got my first ever a week ago - so still getting my feet wet here)

    I also just bought the T60p WS and my screen is a 42T6598. This seems like a new screen, not the Samsung or LG previously discussed. Does anybody know anything more about this screen or how to find any information on what it actually is?

    Okay, just to clarify for you all...

    If your FRU# for the screen is:
    42T0329 -> Samsung
    13N7020 -> LG

    These are for the 15.4" WSXGA+ (1680x1050) Widescreen displays for the T60s.

    Hi,

    In my specs of T60, I can see two entries for RAM.

    VBB 2GB PC2-5300 667MHZ 2DIMM
    SBB 1GB PC2-5300 667MHZ MEM.

    Does anyone knows about VBB and SBB?

    And I assume that "VBB NO INT.WIFI WL 3RD ANTENNA", I am not going to get wifi antenna, right? :)
