    Hi everybody,

I'd like to know what information we will see right on the RAM sticks after we remove them from the machine? Is there a label or something like that which can help us identify that the memory sticks accompany the machine?

I mean, for example, can we see the memory's Mfg part # and FRU part # on its body?

    Thanks!

the original manufacturer's label from micron, hynix, nanya, elpida, or samsung (or maybe someone else by now) will be there along with the lenovo FRU sticker on the same side or the opposite side.

it's easy to remove the palmrest and view the module(s) for yourself.   instructions can be found here.   they're for a T60 but the process is identical.

Thank you for your fast and clear answer. Well, I don't have much knowledge of computer hardware and I have never detached the palmrest before but I think perhaps this time after reading the document I will give it a try :D

all it takes is a #1 phillips screwdriver and the removal of four screws ( link).   using the correct screwdriver size is key.   the rest is easy. ;)
