As anyone who has ever purchased from the Lenovo outlet knows, you have to be very quick to lock in a purchase. By the time the order goes though, one might be left questioning the actual specs of what they ordered. This is what happened to me this week. Ordered a refurb T530 for about $600 total, and didn't remember every last detail about the system. so I texted Lenovo support (in the end I texted about five times and called support two times). No one could provide me with the specs of the system I ordered. In the "Order Acknowledgement" I received via email there is a hyperlink to 'System Details' but it just takes one to an order invoice listing only the 'part number' (e.g., 2359CTR) but not the specs. FWIW, the Part Number is a longer number on my order acknowledgement (*******-2359CTR). Presumably those extra numbers and letters indicate what I actually ordered; the 2359 apparently just means it's a T530.

Today I finally got someone to send me specs on my system, or so I thought. Yes, it was a 2359CTR. but the other letters/numbers were totally different. I re-engaged chat and lucked out getting the same guy (BJ Brad). He became somewhat defensive, admonishing me for saying that *******-2359CTR was a part number, only the 2359CTR part was (of course my invoice says, "Part#********-2359CTR", but I didn't argue. When I asked what the other numbers/letters were he said they were the "machine type". He then sent me another set of random specs, which could not have been mine (I ordered a Win7 box not a Win8). He then went on to suggest that since it was a refurb I might have had Win7 upgraded to Win8. At this point I gave up.

Does anyone know how one might get a list of specs of my purchase? It's funny, I ordered my wife a x230 that arrived yesterday and realize now that I have no record anywhere of what was sent to me. I'm pretty sure I got an IPS screen, but now I need to confirm that I got the right CPU, RAM, etc...

    Signed, very frustrated...

no OS listed. hard drive? size? and what's with the 'Yes' and 'No' (e.g., 128 GB SSD No) I don't think i ordered an SSD.

It's called "parts lookup" and is available here:

Lenovo Support - Parts Lookup (US)

Well, yeah, sometimes these specs are a mess. Bear in mind the following:

    a) These are the specs that the machine *originally* shipped with. Being that it's now a refurb, a thing or two might or might have not have changed.

    b) "Yes" and "No" refer to the serviceability of the part in the same row

    c) I can't guarantee that any of the above info is correct. I don't work for Lenovo and have no access to confidential data pertaining to customer orders.

    Happy ThinkPadding.

Oh and there's no IPS screen option for T530...so you most definitely did not get one...

Good choice...while far from perfect, the IPS panel offered on X220/230 is vastly superior to the TN option...

If you don't get the IPS option on the X220/X230, don't even buy the laptop.

71Y9155 means you got Win 7 HP, and it appears that you got a 128GB Samsung 841 SSD. Let us know exactly what you received.

I always open the product page in a separate tab so when I'm done with my order I can go back to either copy down the specs or save the whole webpage. But yeah like people have showed you parts lookup is the best place to start on determining the actual specs, Lenovo customer support is completely useless in telling me what I got, I can even interpret the parts list better than any reps I've met.
