So that those of us with pending orders can estimate when ours should ship. Thanks

    Date ordered:
    Coupon used:
    System Ordered:
    Date Shipped:

    *Edit*
Added "coupon used." Not sure if this can delay an order (perhaps orders placed through certain Lenovo portals, such as the NAR portal, are shipped slower/faster).

Paool, was there a special sale on 8/12 and did you order from a particular portal? Such as the national realtors portal, or the education portal? Did you use a special coupon? Any other possible reasons for your delay? CC issues?

The Canadian back to school sale doesn't have the loaded 15.4 T61p included..
Or they would have sold one. The discount on the model I want from the US site is 500 bucks? Wow. That model is available on the CA site, but its not included in the sale.

yea mine has been "charged", they haven't taken it out yet...but the money on the card is reserved for them to take it when its completed....i've been toying with the idea of calling and upping the processor to the T7500....I'm just not sure the extra .2 ghz is going to be worth the delay in the order that would cause...i'd only be using the lap top for internet purposes and gaming. (thoughts?)

Oh I think T7500 with 570M should be pretty dam* good at gaming, but I have a lot of Mat-lab work to do so I chose T7700. You mean "reserved" is not "charged"? Well I used automatic phone system to check my credit card balance and I got answered that the money "disappeared"... Is that "charged" or "reserved"? Sorry for my silly questions. In addition, is the laptop shipped by air (one week...) or by sea (one month...) to cross the Pacific Ocean from China to US if I choose UPS Ground? Thanks a lot dude....

I'm pretty sure its flown over and ground shipped after customs...and are you suggesting I switch my processor? I've read that gaming relies much more on the card than that extra .2 ghz that I would get from going from the T7300 to T7500...and i'd much rather get it sooner than later since I'm assuming switching my order would cause a significant delay in it being shipped.

The money is just pre-auth'd from the Card Company. Lenovo will do a pre-authorized charge to see if the amount of money the laptops costs clears your card. They don't really charge you, but the funds are in a holding pattern till either they ship the laptop, or if you cancel the order. With some Credit Card online interfaces, you may see "Available Balance" be less the amount of your "Current Balance". This is their way of making sure they can zap those funds from your card the minute the laptop is invoiced and shipped.

As for shipping, there is no "slow boat from China" in terms of getting your laptop from to the US. They fly the laptop from China to their distribution hub here in the US, and then drive it via truck to your house (which can take those 5 - 7 business days). If you choose 2-day express, they fly it from their hub to the mail service's hub in your area and deliver it via truck from there.

Think it really depends on the games you play. I played CS 1.6 on my current laptop with P4M 1.6 GHz and ATi X300 card and the game was just super fluent...

Hmmmm... Maybe you should buy a desktop lol. You can have a much better configuration than your lappy and the desktop is pretty upgradeable. Anyway. I think T7300 should be fine, and yes, the graphics card is more important in terms of gaming performance for most games.

Should I assume there is a problem if the charge that was being held on my CC was dropped and no actual charge was made? The available funds on my card were less the amount of my purchase from Lenovo for a few days, then suddenly the available balance was back to normal again. No laptop shipped, no other charges. Aren't they supposed to "hold" the charge UNTIL the laptop ships?

Ordered mine Wednesday 8/29. Shipped today. Should have it Tuesday.

T61p, WSXGA+ screen, T7500, 1GB single SoDIMM, standard disk, DVD burner, etc. I'm replacing the memory and hard drive as soon as it arrives with 4GB and a 200GB 7200rpm drive.

[UPDATED] It's possible my order got some priority placed on it because of the previous WUXGA order that I cancelled after 6 weeks. Apparently my corporate Lenovo rep used me previous order as a trophy for what not to do with the fulfillment team. It was that or I just got luck and timed things just right this time around. Reminds me of going to eat at 6pm versus 7pm. My order went from Hong Kong to Korea to Alaska to Kentucky. It should be coming to my state next and be delivered Tuesday or Wednesday.

It is normal for your card to drop the auth - if its on there for too long, the CC company drops it I believe.

Call Lenovo and ask them - but this did happen with my last order and I was worried. After calling them told me this was a 'good' thing somehow and that it is normal.

    Reordered with the wsxga+

For me this is probably a better order. Looking back, my MBP runs at 1440x900...

Seeing as how the wsxga+ will be higher resolution than that, I think it will be just the right balance between realestate and size.

Can someone please explain to me what the hell is wrong with Lenovo. I ordered a T61p on 8/29 through the epp after cancelling a previous similar 14" order that kept getting inexplicably delayed. The estimated shipping date of my new order is 9/13 but I was told my my rep that I was on a priority list, YET here I see people ordering on the same date as I did already having their laptop shipped!!!!!!????? Furthermore the est. shipping date in my order status has now moved from 9/13 to 9/17. WHAT THE HELL!!!!!!!!!! Is the Lenovo rep playing games with me, did I do something to piss him off??!! WHAT IS GOING ON??!!!!

i ordered on 8/12. and there are several people who ordered on july. we have yet to receive our T61s, and alot of ppl ordered later than us and have received theirs already. you cant really complain unless you've waited a month , and got the delay notification saying your order is delayed for another 1-30 days.
