If you have more than 1 laptop, what do you do with the extra ones?

Do you alternate among them in about equal frequency of use, or, if there is a "main" laptop, what do you do with the others? What if both are (ultra)portable?

I use two, when I watch video on the other one. Otherwise, I always use the fast one.

I have several ThinkPads/Lenovos and most of them are ultraportables. My work pc is a X61s. Apart from that I have my privately owned laptops such as a X200, an additional X61s, T43 and an Ideapad S10e.

My work pc is so bloated with company apps and systems, so I usually prefer using my private laptops for private stuff at home or when I have private errands.

My current X200 with SSD is just such a joy to work on, that I use it as much as possible. Other than that I just like to play around with ThinkPads and laptops in general. Testing different features and OS' like Ubuntu and Windows 7.

Even if the company gave me a X61s as a company PC, I got the private X61s for nostalgic reasons. I simply like the form factor so much that I want to keep it in my collection. The Ideapad is my car netbook, to always be able to access the internet from my car. Bought the T43 for nostalgic reasons as well... last of the old design ThinkPads.

    Yes, I am a (ThinkPad) geek :D

I just asked almost the same question a few pages ago in this fourm lol
It turned into a 5-8 page discussion of why people prefer a desktop, and desktop discussion in general (AKA, got somewhat off topic). But anyway, I have an X301 as my "mobile/ultra-portable/on the go laptop. And, I have a T61 as my primary at home computer/desktop replacement. I've had my T61 since January 2008, and I had enough funds to pretty much get whatever computer I wanted. So, it was between a W700 (so I'd make my current T61 my on-the-go computer), a T400s, or an X301. After a LONG choice, I ended up getting a new ultra portable. I was sick of not using my 15.4" screened T61 on airplane trips/coffee shops/etc. because it was simply too large/heavy. My X301, while not very fast at all, meets my needs 100% for ultra-portability.
So, that's why I have two laptops, and that is what I do with those two laptops.
On occasion I will take my T61 off the power supply and loaf around the apartment with it, but that's about all the mobility it will see since the arrival of my new X301 a few weeks ago.

I have a main laptop (T500) that I use when I'm at home, otherwise I use my X61 tablet (e.g. for school, going to friends' houses, etc.). When I'm writing a paper though, I usually have both at my desk. One for the actual paper and the other for research

i would use the laptop that is closest to hand... usually it is a T61 or T60.... personally i prefer to use the 15.4 inch laptops when i type a long document, due to the larger palmrest area.

I thought about getting another notebook, but I don't know. I use my machine mainly around the house. I only take it out a few times a month. Would it be nice to have something smaller for when I do? Sure, but I'm not sure it's worth the $600-800 bucks I'm going to have to drop to get a second notebook for a few times a month. I don't like to buy things just have them. Plus any machine I get will be a step down in screen quality.
