    Unfortunately, neither the T61 nor the R61 has an HDMI port.

    you can get the advanced mini dock to get digital audio and a DVI port, but no HDMI.

    i have a mini dock hooked up to a tv tuner, 26" samsung monitor, and speakers for a laptop and htpc all in one set up.

    Yep me too. I bought a mini dock for the media center and one for my home office so I can easily go between the two locations. I was also looking at the dell 1530 ( having pretty good luck over the years with dell ) I found that the T61 systems were a better buy and had all the features I needed (with the dock functionality). And no 'grainy screen' problem with my 1680x1050 screen either. :)

    The next Thinkpads with Montevina should have a DisplayPort (and possibly other ports?).

    a video out would be awesome, an Svideo would suffice for me......hdmi would be icing on the cake.
