The new thinkpad I bought is Vista with XP downgrade. It is running on XP but the sticker is that of Vista. Shouldn't it come with a Vista disc? How would I change to Vista in case I want to in future?

I have a new Dell Latitude E6400 with the Vista Business/XP downgrade (Dell actually refers to it as "XP Professional with Vista Business License"). It came with XP Pro installed, but I got discs for both XP Pro and for Vista Business.
The point of this being offered is to allow you to continue using XP until you're ready to upgrade to Vista. But you need the media to install Vista in order to upgrade to it! =) -
Some systems didn't get the discs put in the box for some reason. Call warranty support in your country and explain that you didn't get the Vista recovery discs. They should send you a set.

I had the same problem. I called their technical support group and they sent me out a set. Problem solved.
If it's Vista with XP downgrade shouldn't it come w/ Vista disc?
