Are the Ideapads customizable?? I like the way they look and have been debating on the R series or the T61 series and now the Ideapad...I would just like to be able to customize it a little...Thanks

No it is not as far as I know. Also the R and T series' build are far superior to the ideapads...

Speaking as a professional computer consultant guy who handles dozens of new and old notebooks from all sorts of vendors every month, the Ideapad Y510 is built at least as well as any Dell or Toshiba. It might not have that "carved from a chunk of granite" feel that a Thinkpad has, but it's certainly competitive.

I found it built well enough to buy one for my personal use...

I agree with Werst, the Y510 actual has a better build quality than my T60. No creaky palmrests, and the trackpad has alot better feel. The screen has no flex at all, say compared to a HP. If you can deal with the extra weight, you'll be fine. The speakers can't be beat.
