    Hi guys,

I stumbled upon this issue awhile back and since there are other y410p owners here, I was wondering if anyone found a solution to the issue of the audiodg.exe's memory in task manager spiking up every time a sound is being played from your y410p?

The only solution I found for this was to have "disable all sound effects" checked under "enhancements" from speakers options: http://i.imgur.com/TTbiv35.jpg

I am on Win 8.1 x64 with this audio drivers installed: Realtek Audio Driver for Windows 8.1 (64-bit) - IdeaPad Y410p, Y510p

Does anyone know a fix and not have the audiodg's memory spike up beyond 4-5k besides the one I provided?

How much is the memory spike? Mine's only around 8.1 mb and doesn't seem to change that much.

It spikes up around .5 mb per ping sound you make when you move up/down the slider as shown in the 2nd image below:

BEFORE (with sound enhancement disabled), notice audiodg.exe is around 5k (normal):

AFTER (with sound enhancement enabled), notice audiodg.exe is around 81k (not normal):

EDIT: It might be a problem only for the windows 8.1 since it is using Dolby Digital Plus compared to windows 8 using dolby home theater v4.

I'm using dolby digital plus too. Have you tried uninstalling home theater or using the latest drivers from realtek?

I never installed home theater unless you meant the hd audio drivers that is from the lenovo website.

And not sure which drivers are latest from Realtek. Like realtek's website? That website doesn't seem have any support for lenovo laptops but not sure.

I'm using the drivers from realtek's website. If they don't work for you, you can always revert to the lenovo ones.

Haha nice. Yea the official y410p audio drivers for win 8.1 causes memory leak unless the sound enhancement disable is checked :S

Overall, the unofficial drivers work so much better!
