I'm really thinking about picking one of these up based on the specs and price, but I can't find a single expert review online. There's one user opinion here and 2 customer reviews on newegg.com, none of which are all that in-depth. Anyone here have an Ideapad Y710 and care to share their opinion on it?

I don't know if my input will help you, but I've the 13.3 version of the IdeaPad, the Y310a. I'm very impressed with the stability and built quality, definitely on par with the other Toshiba Portege I have, and also much better than the ThinkPad R series imo. Runs great on both XP and Vista, so you don't have to worry about OS compatibility if you choose not to use Vista. All the Y series come with a glossy screen, but the 15 and 17 version is little different with the frameless design. The other difference is the video card and speakers with sub-woofers, everything else should be the same as the 13.3 and 14.1.

Thanks for the response, but I mostly want to pick up the Y710 because of its gaming utility, which you computer isn't built for. Anyone maybe have some in-game performance/benchmarks?
