Either that's a really old laptop or a really new laptop.

Also i'm guessing the Y300 will be the smaller one? (preferably with that QHD yoga display)

EDIT: Did some research and the Y600 has been "rumored" since 2012, and was intending to prove Alienware 18 level performance (that is, twin x80M's in SLI), but i assume lenovo canned the design due to probably not attracting many customers due to the price of such a machine.

It could be possible to cram twin x80M's inside a 15 inch chassis, providing the laptop is thick enough, has enough ventilation (the amount on the Y500's case would be insufficient) and would have no optical drive to make room for the second card. Though i assume this laptop would be no quieter than a jet engine at full load if it needs to handle such performance (which is the case with just about every single Clevo/MSI laptop with 770M or higher). While the current Y510p does run quiet for it's performance level, it still is plagued with high load temperatures, which is something that one would need to fix when taking into account even larger specs.

I don't know, Lenovo is not particularily fond of 17 inches anymore, canning the W700 series 2 years ago, and the Z710 being apparently Lenovo's only 17 inch laptop. (Correct me if i'm wrong but does Lenovo make the G710?, in that case that would count too).

    G700 is last-gen.

    /thread derailed

And since Lenovo has no other 600 series laptop, i assume the Y600 will be a "thick" 15 inch laptop.

Compare y510p's dimension to for example MSI 17 inchers like GT725, GX740.
    This machine is a 15inch display in a 17inch chassis. :)

    MSI GX740 dimension:
    395 x 278 x 33~39.5 mm

.... Yeah, new generation 17 inchers are even bigger....Is it a good thing? I don't think so.

I was a bit worried about a 15.6 screen after gaming on my 18.4 inch Alienware. Honestly, it is a fantastic screen and I play on it with no issues. So 15.6 is great.

15.6 is a more portable option. 17 is more home office type. Now that MONSTER 18.4 is a brick and you wouldn't want to lug that around period.
