I have recently ordered a Y580 from Lenovo. I should receive it in a week or so. I have had the chance to examine the laptop in person and the only gripes I have about it is the flex in back of the lid and the high-glass display.

Does anyone know of a hard shell (similar to the ones for Apple notebooks) that I can attach to the back of the Y580 to "beef up" the integrity of the lid? I travel often and the laptop usually comes with me :D

Secondly, I'm looking for a high quality anti-glare filter I can stick onto the screen. By high quality I mean two things: 1. Doesn't distort colors, cause excessive 'fuzziness' and 2. Minimally reduces the screen brightness and doesn't cause the 'speckle' effect on light colors. If anyone has recently seen the a Sony Vaio S15, you would know exactly what I'm talking about. The 'semi-glossy' finish it has merely blurs and reduces reflections while keeping all of the sharpness of a glossy screen.

    Thanks for your help!

I ordered mine from the Lenovo Online Store. It has the 1080p display, 500 GB 7200 RPM HDD, and the GTX 600M. I got it for $950 + $150 for accidental damage protection for 3 years + tax. Pretty sweet deal.

I did buy the 20994PU and I applied the DOORBUSTERS coupon. I tried doing it myself, but the checkout cart wasn't giving me the option. I had to order over chat via a rep and he applied the $480 discount.

I ordered middle of last month and received it within a week, which was surprisingly quick. Also, I don't see the DOORBUSTERS offer showing up on Lenovo's website anymore. I think they withdrew the discount as Windows 8 was released. The closest model that I can see is the 20994LU for $999 with a shipping date of of 11/9/12. The only difference bw my model and the 20994LU is that the latter has the slower but larger 1 TB 5400 RPM HDD. Their offers may vary by region though.
