Bought a Y560P today for restoration/salvage and normally just scrap for parts ect however I am trying to recover this laptop that refuses to power up. The machine looks as though it was never used and has no signs of abuse except for that someone tried to work on it before. The cooler is absolutely spotless (as if right out of the box) keyboard is practically clean room ready, no cosmetic scratches on body of any kind. Is missing battery, original ram, hard drive, and two of the body panels.

Upon testing the only response from the machine that I get is that the light on the DVD drive comes on and that it seeks a disk but doesn't open. I am using a known to be good charger and ram from another working machine so I am wondering if there are any tried and tested Lenovo experts out there that might shine some light on the issue.

Did unplug the cmos battery in hopes that a reset would fix the issue, cpu was never removed (sticker is unbroken on socket) and there are no signs of damage on the board. No coil squeal or anything that sticks out, no blinking lights and no lights come on at all.

No signs of overheating and stock compound is fresh.
