I've searched for posts on how to do a clean install specific to the Ideapad series, here and on the Internet, but I couldn't find any so I decided to start this thread. This is my first Lenovo but I'm used to doing a clean install with Dell computers.

What I want to do is to delete the partitions of my hard drive and do a clean install without the bloatware that the laptop came with. My current hard drive is partitioned with the C drive having 420GB and the D drive 30GB. From what I've read partitioning the C drive will render the OneKey Rescue scheme and the D drive for recovery useless.

I called Lenovo and asked for a physical backup/recovery disk. I only got a disk labeled Windows 7, and so I will have to download the drivers from their website beforehand.

Am I going to lose some nice features if I do this? Aside from the OneKey Rescue System button not working, what about the other keys?

Are there any preinstalled software that I should reinstall and/or can't install afterwards that's nice to have?

I just want to get as much info as possible before going through this process. Thanks!
