Can't seem to configure the Y550 for I7 on lenovo's site, but it doesn't look like there is anything that really needs to be customized from this model:
I7 Y550 $1,150:
Lenovo 3241-56U 15.6" IdeaPad Y550 Notebook PC
Intel Core i7-720QM Quad-Core 1.6GHz Processor / 4GB RAM / 500GB Hard Drive / GeForce GT 240M / DVD±R/RW Drive / Webcam / Windows 7 Home Premium
Vs current
C2D Y550 $899:
Intel Core 2 Duo P7450 2.13GHz / 4GB RAM / 320GB Hard Drive / GeForce GT 240M / DVD±R/RW Drive / 802.11N Wireless / eSATA / HDMI / Windows 7 Home Premium
Seems like a nice price for an I7 laptop and only $250 more than the C2D config.
Also J&R has 5% Bing cashback. So would be around $1090... Something to keep an eye on if anyone bumps up thier bing cashback rates around thanksgiving.

i would check it out on New Egg its only $999, which i plan to buy
-
Honestly this is a great machine...high end components, and as it was stated, newegg offers this one for $999.99, get it from there, this is by far one of the best budget 15 incher available.

the one thing holding me back is the screen resolution, other than that I love the thing
-
Yep...the resolution is blehh...but nonetheless, the specs for that price is unbelievable...if it had a better graphics card, I would jump on it like there was no tomorrow, but I am aiming towards a 260m GTX, so, this is a no go for me...
Ideapad Y550P I7: $1,150 good deal?
