I just received my y450 yesterday and it came with a slot loading drive... but im not sure its working correctly. i have to push the dvd in about 95% of the way into the drive for it to actually take in the dvd... how are your experiences?

I was also pleasantly surprised to received a slot-loading drive. And like you, I have to push in the disc almost all the way before the drive "takes it". This is similar to my sister's previous-gen Macbook Pro. I've never had a slot drive before now so I don't know what the norm is.
Additionally, I noticed that I got the 110M graphics chip (instead of 105M like I was expecting)! Is that what you found in yours?
I'm liking the look and feel of the machine so far. I had to uninstall a lot of bloatware (including some of the Lenovo programs, I was able to diagnose that Readycomm was giving me connection problems) and tweak the touchpad to my liking. I'll continue customizing the next few days before I render a verdict. Seems great so far though. How would you rate your experience? -
