Ok, after lots of research, I decided this is the netbook I want but was hoping to get some answers here before I go for it.

I'm currently looking at the 06472BU. If my net sleuthing is correct, it should be the near full spec one, N455, 250GB, Bluetooth but missing only 3G.

Question is, can I buy a 3rd party miniPCIe 3G modem and get it to work or is the machine stupidly locked for US markets like most manufacturers are doing? There are threads detailing this process but they're for slightly older models and sort of specific.

Another question is, I really like the red, but it seems they only come in red for the old N450 model. Are there other markets which sell a full spec'd S10-3 in red with the N455?

I plan on upgrading the ram and HDD eventually anyway so only really care to have Bluetooth, DDR3, 3G availability and the red lid but from what I've gathered, the N455 isn't that much better than the N450. Is this true and how does the power consumption compare?

Damn, I already bought a used Thinkpad so no longer have the budget for the S10-3. It was such a nice looking netbook too.

At least now I can wait for dual core Atom to show up in the next S series.
