hey guys. as my current laptop looks like its time is up, im thinking of looking at a lenovo ideapad for my next one. currently im looking at the U460.
im located in vietnam for a few months, and over here, all my online research has led to stores selling the u460 with a 1.86Ghz Pentium P6000 processor. i know the U460 comes with the intel core i3 or i5 processor elsewhere, so im wondering how this p6000 model will perform. i know its a newly released model, and the clock speed isnt the only thing im concerned bout. i read that its an entry level CPU. is it recommended? the price for the laptop itself is significantly cheaper. its around USD600-650 for the P6000 equipped U460. please advise!

I think it's fine.

thanks. wats the actual difference in these processors? i mean, every laptop i see these days are using intel core. its very rare to see a pentium on a laptop, to me at least! so im bit curious before deciding on buying one of these ideapadds

Here's the thing about CPUs, Intel wants to confuse you about CPUs. They talk about GHz, cache, multiple threads, etc., but if you're just going on the Internet or doing iTunes, you likely won't see much of a difference between a low end and high end CPU.

hmm, so the pentium is a low end CPU, i guess. i use some heavier software like photoshop and a digital audio workstation (for recording music) - wonder how a processor like the P6000 will perform..
