Anyone know if its it possible to upgrade my current G580 1366x768 screen to a FHD? I tried googling couldn't find anything about the G580. All I found is that the screen B156HW01 V.4/.7 seems to be a pretty popular in terms of upgrade. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Check the HMM. Would the screen from the similar Y580 work?

I've checked that but it doesn't mention anything about FHD panels since this model doesn't come with one. I've ordered myself a FHD panel from Amazon anyways. I'll give it a try and will report back.

Try checking what kind of connector your laptop uses. That would be good to know.

It looks like there was some follow up discussion here: http://forum.notebookreview.com/ideapad-essential/755626-y50-replacement-displays-compendium-45.html#post9749576

OPs last post in this thread was December of last year. It's unlikely he/she will follow up in this thread again.
