I am looking for a lightweight laptop with good on-battery performance. Recently bought Aero 17 w/9750H and it was no better than my old 7700HQ XPS 15 on battery, plus the circuit whine makes it a pain on battery.

Was planning to go back to old XPS standard, but then saw this Ideapad. Love the numpad - which was one of the reasons I got the Aero.

Question I have is about the Ideapad 35 W TDP limitation. Does this affect battery performance at all? Or is it just plugged in? I don't want to game. Primary interest is writing and compiling code on battery. Writing is low stress, but compiling needs horsepower for a few seconds at a time.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks!!!!
