    Hello everyone.

For about a couple of days now I have been trying to decide between the IdeaPad Y470 and the Alienware M14x.

    http://shop.lenovo.com/us/products/lifestyle/ideapad/y-series/y470/index.html

Portable gaming is my main priority (and hopefully something below 1K)

The problem is I'm on a very short time frame since I will be shipping out of the country on the first week of May.

So can anyone provide any insights as to when in April we might be seeing this model? or the m14x for that matter?

m14x seems like it might drop mid next week.

Keep your eyes peeled for the 21st of April for the m14x. That seems to be the date that people are assuming it will be released. You may want to consider the y460p if you want gaming for a budget.

Even though the Alienware spec are really good, I just hate the alien head logo and the glowing neon keyboard. Rumor has it Dell might put an 1080p on that little machine.

Doesn't look like there is going to be a 1080p for it. The User Manual says:

    Display
    Type
14.0 inch HD WLED with TrueLife
14.0 inch HD+ WLED with TrueLife
    Maximum internal resolution
    1366 x 768 (HD)
    1600 x 900 (HD+)

Still HD+ is still better than Lenovo's HD.

Anything is better than the screens they put on these Ideapads. :p

Battery life, heat management, and price are all important factors before I crossover to Alienware. I do wish the look was a little more "subtle."
