    Hello,

I am looking to get the IdeaPad 410p, however I have a few questions which I know the community here can answer.

    1. Does anyone have any idea when Lenovo will release the Ultrabay GT 750m GPU that can be inserted into the 410p/510p for SLI configuration? (Will they ever release it at all?)

    2. What is the wattage of AC adapter that comes standard with the IdeaPad 410p? Will I have to buy the 170w adapter if I ever want to SLI?

    3. How can I order 16G RAM for the IdeaPad 410p?

    Thank you

    1. I spoke with a rep the other day, he confirmed that they will be released mid September. With that being said, in June they said July, in July they said August, and now they are pushing it back again. They are behind, but they will be released eventually.

    2. I don't believe you'll need an adapter.

    3. Computer memory upgrades for Lenovo IdeaPad Y410p Laptop/Notebook from Crucial.com
This is the only one I've seen so far.

Im pretty sure you need a bigger power adapter, probably not a 170W. If you have a 120 or 150w I'd try them before spending the $100 on a 170W.
I have 4 power adapters because my work was throwing out a bunch of them, I grabbed 3, a 90W a 120W and a 150W, the 90 and 120 work fine, the 150 doesn't fit but Im going to do a home DIY project to get it to work.

    3. How can I order 16G RAM for the IdeaPad 410p?
You should be able to order any 204 pin SODIMM DDR3 RAM. Unless there's some blacklist/whitelist BS like the WAN has.

Comes with a 132.7W power adapter. A bit overkill imho.

Source: I own one and i just looked on the label.

And yes that drive will fit.

Source: My OCZ Agility-3 SATA III SSD fits and works.

I would strongly suggest going for a Samsung or a Cruicial M500 for SSD, they seem to out perform most other brands. There are some specific models from OCZ, ADATA, Plextor, Corsair that are good. I would definately look up some reviews of any SSD you look at.

Even though it's not a fast drive, i got my Agility-3 about 2 years ago at my local computer store, when i got it for 50% off without any defects. Paid like 80$ for a 120GB in 2011, was a hell of a deal. It now sits comfortably in my desktop, which i will upgrade when Skylake + Nvidia 9xx hits.

No seriously, post count does not affect your Rep. on these forums. Rep is based both on account age and the amount of reputation and likes recieved.

Hey guys I bought the Y410p with the 24GB ssd cache and I'm considering returning it for the plain 1TB drive so I can switch that out for a 300+ GB ssd.

Should I just keep mine with the 24GB ssd cache and just switch out that 1TB drive for a ssd? Or am I better off returning it to save $70 that I put towards the ssd?

I'd really like to know if there will be any difference between having just a SSD or a SSD with a 24gb cache. Also, any recommendations on 300+ GB SSD's?

SSD cache will affect boot times and most used apps, but not heavy data and games. Personally im fine with the 1TB+SSD combo, but i dont do stuff like major editing and i dont mind waiting extra seconds for my big games to load.

As for SSD's you might wanna check Tomshardware, they have a list of Best SSD's for the money.

I'll check that out for sure.

So as far as the 24gb cache goes, can you save certain programs to run from that drive in order to run quicker, AND if so, would that slow down the original purpose of having a memory cache since part of it would then be taken up by saved programs?

Actually, what it does is it knows which apps and files you use most, and then it copies them actively on the SSD, allowing you to load them off the SSD faster than you would on the HDD. If you use these apps less and less, and you start using other data more, it intelligently deletes the lower-use data and writes more actively-access data onto it. Note that nothing on the original HDD is affected.

Yeah, I am aware there are better SSD's out there, the only reason I specified that one is because my friend has no use for it and will let me have it for free.

One more big question for you guys I did not think about before: On the Lenovo 410p is it possible to remove the CD optical drive and simply place my this SSD II'm talking about in? That way I would have both the included 1 TB hard drive and the SSD inside the PC?

You would need to buy a caddy first, and then fit the top of the Optical drive onto it. Heres a link to a caddy you could buy:

    Sweet, thanks man!

I hate to sound needy, but can I PM you if I have any more questions? You seem to know your stuff, and better yet you have personal experience with the PC i'm looking for.

    Hello!

We here at NBR are not a shipping service.

You should instead try looking at shipping services in your area, they probably could import a product for a small fee. Also, you can buy the Y510p at Lenovo Ireland!

At the moment it is temporarily out of stock, however give Lenovo a call to determine when it will be in stock.
