While not technically a notebook, these all in ones share some similar characteristics, namely that there don't seem to be any options/talk of upgrades once the item ships. Does any one know if you can change out the processor/ram/HDD on these beauties? I'm assuming they share a board with of lenovos notebooks, but i can't find which one.

btw i only came across this while lamenting my alienware mx11 purchase over the x201. I had to ease my guilt for cheating on my long-term lover. I know these systems are due for a re-fresh, so any info you all can share would be useful.

Some of the Lenovo products are ODM, some are OEM, and some are JDM.... IdeaCentre and Ideapads are usually ODM and JDM products.

There is not a lot of information on Idea branded products, nor are there any major technical forum dedicated to this product.

The CPU/ram/hdd should be all upgradeable, but most likely your warranty will be voided by doing so, especially the CPU.

odm i could understand given the slimness of the case, but then would the processors, and associated parts, be less likely to be soldered? I know they'll only put as many sata & usb headers as the system will have, but they wont come pre-assembled for RAM etc. to lenovo right?

true, I void warranties, at least according to my witty t-.
