There are a few things you can try.

    A. Scan the computer for malware or viruses. I recommend using Avira Antivir and SuperAntiSpyware.

    B. Uninstall any useless software/programs and defrag your computer with JKDefrag.

    C. Disable unnecessary startup entries in MSConfig.

    D. Whenever it's experiencing a slowdown, open up task manager, go to the processes tab, and sort the processes by CPU (descending). Post the top 5 entries here.
