hey...
Ive won the Thinkpad X40 at a competition, but i can choose another IBM laptop, the T42...
IBM thinkpad X40:
1.2 GHZ Pentium M
512MB pc2400 mn DDR ram
Intel Extreme graphics 2, 64 MB (shared)
40 GB
4 cell lilon
Ultrabase X4 with CD-RW/DVD COmbo II
THinkpad T42:
1.5 Ghz Pentium M
256 MB PC2700 DDR ram
ATi Radeon 7500, 32 mb
30 Gb
6 cell Lilon
CD-RW/DVD Combo
I have a much better Desktop for seriuos gamin, but i would like to use this to play a little battlefield or something while im in the train or bus...
I cant choose because i dont think that intel extreme graphics 2 is a very good card and ATi radeon is only 32...
What about Ram is PC2700 much better than 2400???
I would really appreciate youre accistance on this one[ ]

Ok... then ill take the T42, it also has a touchpad and a bit bigger screen...
But i really wanna know, wut is an optical drive?? -
The t42 is going to be better for gaming, but just by a little bit. The X40 is really nice, but lacks an optical drive, which may be problematic. Between the two, I'd hit the t42.

CD ROM or DVD drive. Optical drive refers to a drive that relies on optics or lasers to read the media.

You won a T42? Wow, lucky dog. I'd go with the T42 as Brian says, the X40 is definitely targeted at those that need to be highly mobile and that is a fairly niche market.
