Trying to find some information regarding this laptop and any reveiws or opinions would be great. I read the review for the register which was beyond glowing.

    Specs

    1.7ghz
    ibm wireless
    bluetooth
    128mg radeon fire gl
    7200 rmp 60 gig drive
    14.1 sxga!

Same chasis as t42/43 so great to hear if this still a great buy now that's 1.5 yrs old.

Warranty is 4 yrs 1 yr on site next day and then 3 yrs through Mack. This is from an IBM reseller.

The Mack is a bit of a concer so if any comments or experience greatly appreciated.

Ya'll have been such a wealth of info and appreciate your help.

    Thanks

The Mack warranty is not as good as IBM. I had a T41 not a P though. It was a great little machine. I only got rid of it because right before I got it I had upgraded my desktop LCD and I hated how big everything thing on it was. To me the 14" T is the perfect sized notebook. Other than that I was pleased. They are just well built and serviced notebooks. The T41 uses the older Banais Penium M which isn't quite as fast as the newer Sonoma/Dothans, but the 7200EPM drive will more than make up for it. Good Luck.

Thanks for the update...Trying to quantify why Mack is worse do they cover less worse service longer to repair? Yeah I noticed the chipset a little older but but still at 1.7 and a 5 hr battery life it can't be too much of a difference.

Did you get another laptop then? The p seems to be quite a bit of an upgrade from the 41 as it fixed some earlier issues.

Thanks all for responding. Mack is the issue at hand I believe.

I have used Mack warranties on cameras, things seem to go well here in the US; the do provide for international coverage, but I have had no experience with this or with computers.

The T41p i'm using for work has been nothing but reliable. Unfortunatley, its my work laptop so I don't own it, but I wish I did. Its been fantastic, hasn't let me down yet.
