    Hi everyone
i am getting a ibm laptop with these details
    Code:
    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor T9600 (2.8GHz 1066MHz 6MBL2)
    3 GB PC3-8500 DDR3 SDRAM 1067MHz SODIMM Memory (2 DIMM)
    webcam 14.1
    fingerprint
250 GB Hard Disk Drive, 5400rpm
2GB Intel® Turbo Memory hard drive cache
    Intel WiFi Link 5100 (AGN)
CD-RW/DVD-ROM Combo 24X/24X/24X/8X Max, Ultrabay Slim (Serial ATA)
    9 cell Li-Ion Battery

    its about $1500
it says it has about 13 hours of battery life and i am getting a 9 cell battery(maximum offered)
i wanted to know do i have a problem if i order this cpu (heating-battery)?
    i have 4 choices
    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor P8400 (2.26GHz 1066MHz 3MBL2) 25W [subtract $318.75]
    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor P8600 (2.40GHz 1066MHz 3MBL2) 25W [subtract $281.25]
    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor T9400 (2.53GHz 1066MHz 6MBL2) [subtract $206.25]
    Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor T9600 (2.8GHz 1066MHz 6MBL2)

does it worth it to for me to get this processor? does i make any difference?
do i have any battery or heating problem?
is it ok to get a T series cpu ? because i am getting this series just because its supports t series cpu
i am getting it today so please reply asap

According to NBR review, the 9-cell will give you closer to 10-9 hours of battery life with integrated graphics, not 13. 7 with dedicated graphics.

If you're going to be doing everyday tasks, any of those CPU's will do. If you're going to do a lot of encoding, business apps, video editing, etc., then I'd recommend the T9400 since it has 6MB cache. I think the T9600 is a rip off.

Well, that would depend on what your doing with it.

i am a programmer but i do a lot of thing and i install a lot of hardware
my laptop right now is really slow for example it takes like 10-20 minutes to boot up!!!! and i bought it last year
but i do not install any games or something like that
i just do normal things! maybe few messengers-few remote connections-few programms-editors-ftp-firefox-maybe Visual studio and ...
but what i mean is does it really affects the battery life?(what i mean but really is do you get a 2 hour battery life with 2.8 and a 8 with 2.4 ?)

No, CPU does not affect battery that much when idle. Battery life depends mostly on the tasks you are running, LCD brightness, and heat production.

As for your startup time, you seriously need to optimize that system.

    Thanks all
Ok so it doesn't affect the battery life that much thanks
    what about the price
do i get a really better performance(do i really sense it when i am working on my laptop) or not(only pro can sense the difference)? i mean does it worth it to pay $200 extra?

    Toshiba satellite
    vista ultimate + intel T2130 ( 1.86 ) + 1GB
i exaggerated but sometimes when i put it to sleep for like 12 hours and i try to start it up it takes like 5 minutes( no exaggerating ) to load the Login windows and after that it takes like 7-8 minutes to load(if you touch anything you will have to restart it)
i changed the windows and i formatted my hard drive a while ago but it was still really slow
also battery is dead because it goes to 60-70% then it shutdowns (i actually have 2 laptops with the same problem!!)

I would say the T9400 offers the best value of the ones u are looking for. It is not that much more than the P8600 and it is faster + 2 times the cache. Everyone has told me that the T9600 will have no noticeable difference from the T9400 (unless using CPU demanding software) yet it costs 200 dollars more...I would say go with the 9400 unless money is no object, there shouldnt be a big difference from the 9400 to 9600 in everyday computing.

money is not an issue but i don't want to spend an extra money for something that i don't event feel the difference
i just want to know does it make a difference in everyday computing ? does it helps making computer faster? does it prevents hanging more than t9400? i have to decide really soon because offer is only valid till today

No i did everything ! i installed pure windows but right know that's not the problem
the problem is should i get t9400 or t9600 and i am waiting for members answers
for regular use does it have a real difference in performance ?
i am not using it for things like cracking a password or an algorithm or anything like that
does it really helps running programs-windows
does it prevents system hangs? does it speeds up everything?

The difference will be extremely minor. I would only purchase this if I wanted the very latest technology and was willing to pay a premium for it—that and if I “wasn’t allowed” to buy another notebook for several years.

like you say, for everyday computing i HIGHLY doubt you will notice any difference between the two. That being said the T9400 would probably be your best option.
