At first I thought it was weird that Lenovo's support for Thinkpad redirected to IBM. I filled out a ticket and whatever yada yada. They sent me a box DHL and I packed it up and then returned it to DHL to ship back to get fixed.
Today I go it back from DHL about 30 minutes ago. On the paper that was inside they say they replaced the follow and checked system board and checked a box that just says plastics. My palmrest is replaced with one that says IBM Thinkpad instead of Thinkpad T-series which is cool.
I notice that a dvd I had in my computer, which was my bad for forgetting to take it out, is not in there anymore. I pull the drive out and it has a white sticker on it like it was replaced too I think. I look on the side and it just says DVD multi recorder CD-RW. Why would they replace my DVD burner for a plain dvd multi? There was nothing wrong with my previous drive. Should I be able to file another ticket or whatever and say hey look I need to burn dvds for what I do and am missing my burner? (And $20 DVD that was in there )

well the DVD is gone, nothing you can do, but are you sure its not a DVD+RW and just a basic combo drive.

I know the dvd's a goner I'm just kidding
It doesn't look like a combo drive that it can burn both CD's and DVD's but a combo where it reads both and only burns CD's. I'll give it a test real quick. I just files another request about it to see what is up and what I can do if indeed it is just a CD-RW.
I'll post what happens when I find out.
*EDIT
FALSE Alarm on everything sorry,
I didn't post again cause I don't think this is worth it to push back to the top, thanks for everyone who read this and vengance for responding!
