I ve been thinking about buying Thinkpad T61p and would like to connect it to a 24" HP LCD - when watching movies and play some games at home - t61p has some interesting gaming results (3d mark 2005 - 7700p, 3d Mark 2006 - 3700p), do u know what are performance differences between VGA port and DVI and HDMI? Cause IBM t61p has only VGA port.

Another question arises, do u void your warranty if u change HD or RAM?

I don't think there's any performance hit with different ports, it is all up to the GPU, the ports should be able to handle more than what the GPU pumps out.

As far as I know, changing RAM or HD do not void warranty, but if you break anything at that moment they won't fix it for you.
