    Hi folks...

I am in deep trouble, i have convinced my grandfather to let me install windows 7 on his R50e (he liked the idea quite), Windows XP Home was installed at that time). But windows 7 says it needs a driver for the cd/dvd drive. I have the option to put in a USB/CD where he can take the driver from, i tried some files from the internet but windows never found any of them suitable for the drive. I also tried putting in the "recovery cd" but it didn't find any suitable drivers from that source either. I also tried to select any drive (like the partition from ibm) but no luck again.

Why does it need a driver for the dvd drive if windows 7 can boot from the installation dvd? >.<

Anyway... I can't progress at that step so i put in the recovery cd and selected "factory condition" so he would have AT LEAST a clean install (with ibm programs though). But when the laptop reboots he wants that I put in a "Installation Disc 1" (I'm not quite sure about the exact name). He does not accept the recovery cd for that step.

Is there another "Installtion/Recovery" cd that we didn't got from the dealer/store? Is it possible to install Windows 7, if yes, how?
