    IBM ThinkPad T43 PreOrders

    Have any of you actually snooped through tabook.pdf and purchased a T43? I used the number at my University's IBM educational program site and got the run around and then spoke to a person who was particularly rude but connected me right back to my University's IBM representative... of which I left a voice mail. But my question is, have any of you actually started purchasing the T43s yet? If so, what model and at what price? I have my eyes on 2668-44U (770/512/14.1/XGA/x300/Combo/Finger) and 2668-4DU (770/512/14.1/SXGA+/x300/Combo/Finger).

    I'm so jaded by the 64mb x300 though. I am not really able to wait until mid March or April 5th for more ThinkPads. Any suggestions? I've posted a What Should I Buy a plenty of times in the past, so I guess I'm asking now "Should I Buy?". ThinkPads are definitely a favorite around here so I assume a few of you will have orders.

    My needs are the sames as any other engineering student. But I do want dedicated graphics, perhaps not for heavy gaming more but more for being able to run the next Windows Operating system and perhaps some light on-the-road type of gaming. Entertainment is important to me, so regail me about tails of crappy screenness or amazing screenness.

    I ordered a 2668-94U from tabook via phone order on 2/18. At the time I was told it was backordered 6 weeks. I was really surprised to receive a shipping notice on 2/25 that it had shipped from Hong Kong, and I expect to receive it on 3/1 or 3/2.

    I had previously ordered a T42 2379DXU on the day that that T43s were announced. I waited until my return period was almost up, hoping for some real T43 into to be published, before calling up sales. I explained the situation and the sales guy says "of course you want the T43 - let me set up the RMA for you!". Even through I was hoping to get some feedback from other T43 owners before making the leap, it looks like I may be the first one on my block to get one.

    I neglected to mention that my order was through the Employee Purchase program. I don't know if it has different availability than the other programs.
