ThinkPads have been made in China for quite some time. It matters more what standard they are built to rather than where and ThinkPads are built to a high standard. If you want a well built laptop with a great keyboard, ThinkPads are it.

He's saying that being made in China isn't a problem at all - it's the quality itself that's important, not where it's made. And, ThinkPads are VERY high quality.

(This post typed on a "Made in China" ThinkPad)

Most notebooks are made in Asia. I have no problem with Chinese ThinkPads. They are engineered to a hight standard.

The R series uses both the Celeron and Pentium M.

The Celeron M comes in both 512K (old) and 1M (new) varieties.

The Pentium M comes in both 1M (old) and 2M (new) varieties.

Most likely, a new R series will have either a new Celeron M or a new Pentium M. So, some WILL have 2M cache.
