Has anybody tried to install Windows Vista x64 on T60? Are there any issues I should be aware of before buying this notebook ?

Considering T60 has no 64-bit processors, Vista x64 is not gonna happen...now if you've got a 32-bit version, T60 has the latest of hardware support so it should run pretty much anything in Vista. I have read that in order to be labelled as Vista Premium Compliant, a notebook must have a few things that most new notebooks currently don't ship with (the hybrid harddrive for instance). That doesn't mean it won't run it though.

Make sure you burn off the recovery CDs before starting.

    Hey ZaZ, just a question:

So, the ThinkVantage feature of ThinkPads do have a feature to burn recovery discs?

I'm just curious because my T60 is coming next week... :) and I regularly do a clean install every 3 months on my current desktop so I'm thinking if I could do that on the T60 also...

They will burn off the recovery CDs, not an OEM XP CD.

You did get a DVDRW or CDRW with yours? I didn't, so I had to have them ship a set of CDs for me, cuz you can't transfer the iso's to another computer to burn, which I had no idea when I opted to save the $7 or whatever cuz why would I want to burn on my notebook???? Or at least the Lenovo support people told me I couldn't....
