    Hey, I'm just trying to optimize my computer's performance...so what is bloatware? where is it on my ibm? and how can I get rid of it to make my computer more efficient?

    IBM offers a pretty clean image. Just un-install anything you don't want, though there shouldn't be much.

    Actually, I think ThinkPads come with quite a lot of stuff. When I restart Windows there are generally about 80 processes running. Now of course not all of these came with the factory install, but I recall seeing at least 60-70 processes when first starting up the computer. A reformat should get it down to 20-40 processes, though I haven't gotten around to doing that.

    If you can get an XP cd, you should be able to do a fresh install. Be sure to burn off the drivers folder first.
