Does the T42 (2378dxu) main motherboard support dual channel memory configuration... if my system has 512mb already in it and i want to upgrade by added another memory stick... will i be better off with 1X512mb stick exactly the same as the existing one, or a 1X1GB stick...

It does'nt matter as they don't use dual channel memory. In fact I'm pretty sure any notebook using the Pentium M does not support dual channel and only one or two using the P4 may.
